who needs an appendix anyway?

so adam got his appendix removed on wednesday the 23rd.  the surgeon kindly documented the procedure.  Box 1: inflammed appendix.  Box 2: clamped for removal.  Box 3: removed appendix in a bag.  Box 4: insides sans appendix.

here's Adam after surgery just after being taken to his room.  he looks a little dead.  his voice sounded crazy because they had to stick a breathing tube down his throat during surgery.  and he had no color and his lips were all dry.  he was very awake saying lots of things, nothing crazy, but just a lot of story telling.  later he informed me that he did not remember how he got to his room, or half of the things he said.  oh well. 

And this is later when he was a little more coherent but right before feeling nauseous from drinking apple juice.

 

anyway, he's back at home now recovering nicely.  March has been an interesting month for us.  it started with a huge canker on my uvula of all places.  then Adam lost his wedding ring for almost a week.  we searched everywhere for it, gave up for a couple of days, and it finally turned up.  then he got accepted into a grad school in NYC (yay! we are moving sometime in August, probably to NYC but there's a chance we could go to boston as we're still waiting to hear from another school).  then a new participant at work who has autism told me i may not be able to be trusted because i'm chinese. very amusing. Then came the appendectomy.  and there are still 5 more days of March left.  we anxiously await other exciting things that may happen.
